Job title: Shop Manager
Role open to applications: 27th March 2026 – interview date 1st April 2026
Location: Hedon Shop
Salary: £25,986 per annum – as of April 1st.
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week to be worked 5 out of 7 days on a rota basis, Monday to Sunday (this will include Bank Holidays). Daily hours 08:45-17:15 if working Monday to Saturday, 09:45-16:15 if working Sunday.
As a Shop Manager, you will lead the smooth and effective running of one of our Dove House shops, ensuring a professional, welcoming environment that reflects our values of being passionate, positive and professional. You’ll work closely with staff and volunteers to deliver excellent customer service, maximise income and maintain a safe, compliant and well merchandised shop.
We are looking for someone who brings retail experience, strong organisational skills and the confidence to support and guide a team..
Are you able to…
• Provide outstanding customer service and represent Dove House with professionalism?
• Lead and motivate a team, offering guidance, support and clear direction?
• Manage stock, pricing, merchandising and shop layout to maximise income?
• Work calmly under pressure and use your initiative to problem solve?
• Use EPOS systems and basic IT confidently?

Are you able to be responsible for the efficient and effective day to day management of a retail outlet?
Are you happy to be the main keyholder for the store, attending emergency call outs as necessary and allowing access to the emergency services, contractors, etc as required. This may involve working outside normal hours?
Can you be responsible for achieving the sales budget, trading company budget and gift aid budget. This will include analysing epos reports and taking necessary steps to maximise the sales in the store?
Are you able to be responsible for sorting, categorising and pricing all donated goods, as defined by Hospice Policy, through the Regional Manager, to include working in the retail distribution centre as and when required?
