About us
Dove House Hospice supports patients with a wide range of life limiting illnesses to live every moment. It is our vision to provide a sustainable, comfortable and caring environment in which we offer exceptional, specialist palliative care to patients, carers and their families.
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurse to join our values led organisation. The successful candidate may not currently work in palliative and end of life care services, but will have relevant experience and a sound understanding of pain and symptom management, meaning they are ready to specialise in this area. They will be passionate about providing person centred care, and committed to ensuring high standards of care are upheld and maintained.
This post allows you to work with a wide range of professionals, enabling you to plan and deliver a co-ordinated and multi-disciplinary approach to care. This provides a unique opportunity to enable patient’s individual needs to be met in a truly holistic and person-centred way.
The successful candidate will require relevant experience of working at a staff nurse level as they will be expected to regularly lead the nursing team and co-ordinate the care provided on the in-patient unit during the shift. Upholding and living the hospice values, you will act as a role model and provide support, guidance and supervision to junior or less experienced members of the team. You will be an excellent communicator, who has the ability to demonstrate compassion and sensitivity, but equally not afraid to challenge appropriately when needed.
This post provides an amazing opportunity to deliver person centred care at its best whilst also developing and strengthening your leadership skills and knowledge in palliative and end of life care.
Informal discussions are welcomed and encouraged. To arrange this please contact Diane Woodhouse, Head of Nursing, Therapies and Quality. Email address: d.woodhouse@dovehouse.org.uk
Closing date - Friday 18th June 2021
The above post enables the holder to have access to persons in receipt of health services in the course of his/her normal duties and as Dove House Hospice meets the requirements in respect of exempted questions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, the successful candidate will be asked to apply for an Enhanced check with Barred List Check (Adult) through the Disclosure & Barring Service. This will contain details of all convictions on the Police National Computer including cautions, reprimands or final warnings which would not be filtered in line with current guidance. A criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining employment.
